  January 2009 – No fatalities reported.

 February 2009 – No fatalities reported

 March 18, 2009 – A worker was crushed between a front end loader and an excavator at a project in Kanata. 

April 16, 2009 – A worker was found trapped in a hole by a crane at a project in Sault Ste. Marie. 

April 17, 2009 – A supervisor was fatally injured when the scaffolding he was working from collapsed at a project in Ottawa. 

June 1, 2009 – A worker was fatally injured when a steel form being hoisted broke free from its lifting hook and landed on a worker at a project in Mississauga.

 June 14, 2009 – A worker was fatally injured when he fell approximately 10 feet from an ICI project in Toronto. 

July 13, 2009 – A worker was fatally injured when he was struck by a dump truck that was operating in reverse at a residential project in Thornhill.

 July 28, 2009 - A Worker was fatally injured when the ladder he was moving made contact with a 4800V overhead power line.  The worker was installing soffit and fascia on a residence in Hanover at the time of the electrical contact. 

August 23, 2009 – A worker was fatally injured when he fell 13 feet at an ICI project in Toronto.  The worker was in the process of lowering steel sheeting to the ground floor from the mezzanine when the rope caught his glove causing him to fall.

 September 30, 2009 – A worker was fatally injured when he was electrocuted by an overhead energized electrical line.  The worker was in the process of delivering shingles to an existing residential project when the boom of the truck made contact with the overhead line.

October 19, 2009 – A worker was fatally injured when he fell 20 -25 feet from a roof at a project in Kanata. 

October 25, 2009 – A worker was fatally injured when he fell 24 feet to the ground from the roof of a residential project in Oakville while performing warranty work on the roof.

December 15, 2009 – A worker was fatally injured when a concrete slab landed on him at a bridge project in Oakville.  The worker was in the process of cutting a concrete bridge deck when the piece being cut shifted causing him to fall 3.25 metres.  The concrete slab followed and crushed the worker.

 December 24, 2009 – Four Workers were fatally injured when the swing stage they were working from separated, causing them, and another, worker to fall multiple stories to the  ground.  The other worker sustained critical injuries.  The workers were working at an existing high rise residential project in Toronto.
