January 18, 2006 – A worker while installing liquid dry insulators around two 120 volt lines made contact with a 550 volt transformer and was electrocuted on an ICI project in Hamilton.

January 19, 2006 – A worker (roofer) fell approximately 20 feet on a residential project in Innisfil sustaining head injuries. The worker succumbed to his injuries on January 25, 2006.

January 23, 2006 - A worker (operator) was driving a crane on a roadway in Port Burwell when the road collapsed causing the crane to roll over into a pond resulting in the worker drowning.

January 31, 2006 – A worker (operator) was building winter roads in the Birch Lake area (Kenora). The worker and the backhoe he was operating were discovered submersed in the lake.

February 14, 2006 – A worker (electrician) was working off a ladder on a residential project in Toronto and fell approximately 20 feet. The worker sustained head trauma and succumbed to his injuries on February 15, 2006.

February 21, 2006 - A worker (pipelayer) was working in a trench installing a pipe on a project in Ottawa when the pipe support system failed. The worker was struck-by a component of the support system in the head. The worker succumbed to his injuries on February 22, 2006.

March 3, 2006 – A worker (operator) while dumping a load of gravel, the material became lodged. The worker was struck-by the material when it suddenly came loose out of the box on a project in Scarborough.

April 26, 2006 – A worker was electrocuted while operating the tailgate of a dump truck during a paving operation on a residential project in Strathroy. The box of the dump truck came into contact with an energized overhead power-line rated at 4800 volts.

May 1, 2006 – A worker (pipe layer) working in an excavation installing a sewer lateral was struck-by a backhoe when the backhoe slid into the excavation on a project in Binbrook.

May 8, 2006 – A worker (operator) was lowering the box of a dump truck when the box came into come into with an overhead energized power line rated at 7200 volts. The worker while exiting the cab was electrocuted on a project in Calden.

May 9, 2006 – A worker (operator) was struck-by a reversing dump truck on a residential project in Selkirk.

May 12, 2006 – A worker sustained head injuries while loading a backhoe unto a flatbed on a project in Hornpayne (Timmins area).

May 30, 2006 – A worker was installing siding while working off a ladder. The worker fell and sustained head injuries on a residential project in Vaughan.

May 31, 2006 – A worker was struck-by a steel beam that was being supported by the forks of a forklift truck. The beam slipped and struck the worker in the head on a project in Brampton.

June 5, 2006 – A worker (roofer) was using the bucket of a front-end loader as a work platform on a residential project in Cochrane. The controls of the front-end loader were left unattended, when the worker was crushed-by the bucket of the front-end loader that rolled forward.

July 7, 2006 – A worker fell into an excavation approximately 10 feet deep on an ICI project in Kingston. The worker succumbed to his injuries on July 10, 2006.

July 13, 2006 – A worker was buried when the wall of the excavation caved-in. The worker was repairing a foundation wall on a residential project in Niagara Falls.

July 15, 2006 – A worker (operator) was crushed-by a compactor which rolled over on a project in Halton Hills. The project consisted of a new bike bath.

July 21, 2006 – A worker while loading material onto a pickup truck fell striking his head on an ICI project in Jordon. The worker succumbed to his injuries on July 23.

July 21, 2006 – A worker (operator) was electrocuted on a road project in Petrolia. The operation consisted of spreading gravel for a road shoulder. A gravel spreader attached to the back of a dump was energized when the box of the dump truck came in contact with overhead power lines. The gravel spreader operator was electrocuted when he stepped off the spreader.

August 3, 2006 – A worker while unloading a 45 gallon drum filled with steel plates lost his footing and fell. The worker was struck-by the drum that fell on top of him on a project in Vaughn.

August 16, 2006 – A worker (plumber) after dropping his torch onto his ankle fell off a ladder onto a glass fixture on the floor of a residential project in Richmond Hill. The worker succumbed to his injuries caused by the glass severing one of his arteries.

August 31, 2006 – A worker (framer) installing plywood to a wall on a residential project in Whitby fell and loss consciousness. The worker succumbed to his injuries on September 1, 2006.

September 1, 2006 – A worker (operator) was reversing a compactor along the edge of a retaining pond when the compactor rolled over. The worker was crushed-by the compactor on a project in Milton.

 September 29, 2006 – A worker (window cleaner) working off a ladder fell approximately 20 feet sustaining multiple injuries in Beamsville. The worker succumbed to his injuries on September 30.

October 2, 2006 - A worker (supervisor) was struck-by a dump truck unrelated to the sewer/watermain project in Brampton.  

October 26, 2006 – A worker while helping to install an eavestrough was electrocuted when the eavestrough made contact with an energized hydro line on a residential  project in King Township.
