January 28, 2005 – A worker as he was exiting out of a manhole was struck-by workplace vehicle (pickup truck) on a project in Markham. The worker sustained internal injuries and passed away on February 2, 2005.

February, 2005 – No fatalities.

March 2, 2005 – A worker was struck-by a crane on a project in Vaughn.

March 10, 2005 – A worker (structural steel) fell approximately 30 feet and sustained head injuries on a project in Whitby.

March 19, 2005 – A worker working off a ladder fell on a project in Vaughn receiving head injuries. The worker succumbed to his injuries on April 8, 2005.

March 29, 2005 – A worker while attempting to jump off an elevator that was free falling fell back into the elevator shaft falling approximately 30 feet on a project in London.

April 9, 2005 – A worker (electrician) was electrocuted when he received approximately 500-volt shock while removing a ground cable on a project in Mississauga.

May 16, 2005 – A worker (electrician) fell approximately 100 feet off an overhead crane on an ICI project in Timmins.

June 28, 2005 – A worker (22 years old) while dismantling a tent was electrocuted when one of the tent poles came into contact with an overhead energized power line on a project in Clairville (Brampton area).

August 5, 2005 – A worker (roofer) on an ICI project in Stouffville fell approximately 20 feet when he step through an roof opening that was covered with an insulation panel.

August 10, 2005 – A worker (window cleaner) fell while working on a seven-storey building in Toronto.

August 18, 2005 – A worker (operator) was operating a compactor on the shoulder of a road, compacting granular material. The worker was crushed-by the compactor when it rolled off the shoulder on a project in Winchester (Ottawa area).

August 19, 2005 – A worker (operator) was operating a backhoe on a project in Ottawa that went over an embankment, causing the worker to be thrown from the equipment.

September 9, 2005 – A worker (roofer) fell approximately 18 feet when he slipped throwing debris off a residential roof on a project in Thornhill.

September 12, 2005 – A worker that was inside a garbage bin that was being lifted by a forklift truck was crushed-by the unsecured bin when it toppled over on a project in Mississauga.

September 14, 2005 – A worker was struck–by an excavator on a project in Cambridge during tree clearing operation sustaining multiple injuries to the lower half of his body.

September 16, 2005 – A worker fell approximately 18 feet off a ladder on a project in Bracebridge sustaining head injuries.

October, 2005 – No fatalities.

November 15, 2005 – A worker while standing in close proximity to a caisson, the ground gave way burying the worker on a project in Owen Sound.

November 21, 2005 – A worker while installing a satellite on a residential project in Norfolk County fell 20 feet. The worker was accessing the second storey roof by means of an extension ladder that was situated on the veranda roof.

November 29, 2005 – A worker (operator) was found drowned in a pond on a residential project in Colborne.

December 13, 2005 – A worker drowned when the boat he was in sank returning back from building a cottage on a project in Perry Sound.
