January 2, 2001 - A 58 year old worker died from carbon monoxide poisoning at a residential project while servicing a salamander heater.

January 10, 2001 - A 50 year old worker sustained fatal injuries when struck by the bucket of a backhoe on a project in Kanata.

February 2001 - No fatalities.

March 16, 2001 - A 59 year old ironworker died when he fell 20 feet from the structure while erecting steel on a new theatre under construction in Kitchener.

March 27, 2001 - A worker died when he was crushed beneath a forklift that tipped over while an excavator on a project in Ajax was towing it out of the mud.

April 18, 2001 - A 67 year old worker fell 8 feet from a scaffold on April 17, 2001 and succumbed to the injuries sustained on April 18, 2001. The accident occurred at a subway under construction in Don Mills.

May 2001- No fatalities.

June 28, 2001 - A 25 year old labourer died when he was buried under 4 feet of sandy gravel being discharges from a dump truck on a road construction project in Clarington in Durham County.

July 13, 2001 - A 50 year old electrician working on an industrial project in Cambridge was making a new connection in an electrical panel when he came in contact with a live feed and was electrocuted.

July 23, 2001 - A 17 year old worker was killed when the ride-on packer he was operating on project in Thunder Bay tipped off the shoulder of the road crushing him.

July 28, 2001 - A 40 year old roofer succumbed to injuries received when struck by a reversing tractor-trailer on an industrial project in Downsview.

August 22, 2001 - A worker succumbed to injuries sustained on August 15, when, while engaged in the installation of siding on a residence, he disturbed a nest of bees and fell off a porch onto a concrete sidewalk in Goderich.

August 23, 2001 - A lineman for a utility was electrocuted when he came in contact with a live overhead secondary while moving electrical lines to a new pole that had been relocated to accommodate a new driveway in Niagara.

August 28, 2001 - A framer died when he fell from the roof trusses through a stair opening into the basement of a two-storey residence under construction in Kitchener.

September 12, 2001 - Two workers on a project Moosonee making a lateral connection from a residence to a municipal sewer died when the walls of a trench caved-in.

October 18, 2001 - A 32 year old worker on a project in Guelph was crushed when the elevated blade of a dozer he was performing maintenance work on dropped on him.

October 25, 2001 - A worker on a project in Markham died when he was struck by a sheet of wallboard that blew across the second floor and struck him and he fell to the ground below.

October 26, 2001 - A 26 year old and a 57 year old worker were electrocuted when the boom of the crane they were using to install Jersey Barriers on a project on the 401 at Bellville came in contact with an overhead electrical conductor.

November 1, 2001 - A 29 year old worker was electrocuted and died while disconnecting a cable from a welding machine on an industrial project in Cambridge.

December 4, 2001 - A 52 year old worker was electrocuted and died when an aluminium ladder he an another worker were moving struck an overhead electrical conductor. He was engaged in the installation of de-icing cables on the roof of a residence in White Lake (Ottawa).

December 14, 2001 - A worker died when run over by a reversing tandem tractor-trailer on a road project in Etobicoke.
