in Ontario construction, with limitations and
conditions.

Construction Safety Services Inc. is one of the
few companies that have trainers who have been
trained by the CSAO to deliver the Ministry of Labour
recognized and preferred, stilts training program.
Section 116 (as amended by O. reg. 443/09) allows
stilts for residential units and residential
common areas, only under certain conditions; 1- drywall
finish work, 2 - installation of insulation and
3- vapour barrier installation
Under the new regulations it is mandatory for
all stilts users to be trained. If your workers
are using stilts, they need to be trained asap
before you get charged by the MOL.
Training consists of 3
parts;

The rules, including an
overview of OHSA responsibilities and
regulations for stilts;

The workplace must meet
certain conditions; and
-
Workers must demonstrate
the ability to inspect, maintain, adjust, fit,
safely mount, maintain balance and walk on their
stilts.

management and workers at your location, or you
can attend one of our open
door classes.
BuildSafe™ supplies all
materials needed. (books,
notepads, pencils etc.) **
Workers must bring their own stilts.
Employers must supply the training room and
enough tables and chairs for all participants.
A plasticized wallet card
will be given as proof of attendance along with
a record of training.
